The Oris Aquis Depth Gauge 01 733 7755 4154-Set RS is serious equipment. Big case. Black dial. Black rubber strap. Everything about it points toward depth, pressure, and actual use. This is the kind of watch that makes a regular diver look a little too polite. You see 45.8mm on the specs and already know what the wrist presence will be like. Then you put it on and it owns the space.
The 45.8mm stainless steel case gives this watch a lot of wrist presence, though Oris handled it well. Brushed steel keeps the surface grounded, and the polished touches break things up so the case has some life to it. The unidirectional bezel brings in a proper dive-watch shape right away. Then the screw-in crown finishes the picture. You look at it and the watch seems ready for deep water, rough weekends, and a little daily wear and tear along the way.
The dial keeps things direct. Black background, silver-tone hands, stick markers, date at 6. It’s easy to read, which is exactly what you want from a luxury watch. Lume helps when the light drops, and the minute track around the edge keeps the face disciplined. There’s very little softness anywhere on this watch. Even the clean layout feels muscular.
Inside runs the Oris Caliber 733 automatic movement with around 38 hours of power reserve. The movement gives the watch a dependable core, and the solid caseback fits the overall tone better than an exhibition window ever could. A watch named Depth Gauge should come across like a tool. And this one absolutely does.
The black rubber strap finishes it the right way. Rubber belongs here. It keeps the watch comfortable. The watch’s look is coherent and suits the whole dive-first identity of the piece. The deployment clasp with push button gives it a more secure closure too. For collectors and enthusiasts who want an Oris with real presence, real utility, and a much more aggressive take on the Aquis line, this one has a very easy argument.
