This Breitling Chronomat B01 watch does a few things that most don't dare to attempt together. You get a bold green dial, a rose gold bezel, and a rubber strap. Somehow, it all clicks. The dial and that color are deep, nearly forest at a glance, but under the light it changes. Not flashy, but not passive either. There’s some heat to it.
Stick markers in rose gold line the outer edge, tight and balanced. The same tone runs across the hands, each one luminous and cut like it was shaped by hand. Three sub-dials sit where they’re supposed to. Seconds at nine, minutes at three, hours at six — no surprises there. That said, they each bring texture with circular patterning that splits them visually from the flat green behind them. Around the rim is a tachymeter scale that’s printed sharp, no smudges or wasted space.
The bezel pulls the attention whether you want it to or not. It’s made of 18K rose gold, ratcheted for grip, and it moves in crisp clicks that stop exactly where you need them. It’s thick, too, like it knows it has something to say. It doesn’t sit flush against the crystal, which makes adjustments feel physical. You’re turning metal. This is a uni-directional setup, and the crown screws down smoothly every time.
Flip the watch over and you can see the movement ticking along behind a transparent case back. That’s the Breitling Caliber 01 inside, their flagship automatic chronograph engine. The rotor swings silent, and you’ll get about 70 hours of reserve once fully wound. Pushers on the side are solid and dependable. They press clean, rebound fast, and the chronograph hand snaps back to zero like it wants to.
The strap finishes the job. It's green rubber, custom-molded to mirror the shape of the lugs and case curve. Texture runs across the outside while the inside stays flat for grip. Buckle’s a deployant with push button, stainless steel. It sits flat against the wrist, no extra lift or twist.
